Verseyard Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: November 3, 2026

This policy explains how Verseyard, a MakePip service at verseyard.makepip.com, handles information when you browse, create a profile, share writing, join the community, or take part in battles. For privacy requests, contact [email protected] and include “Verseyard privacy” in the subject.

1. Information we collect

  • Account and profile information: your MakePip account identifier, email address, Verseyard username, name if supplied, profile picture, biography, optional birthday, profile artwork, music links, and appearance preferences. MakePip provides the shared sign-in service.
  • Community content and activity: posts, images, GIFs, comments, group discussions and memberships, friend requests, votes, reputation, notifications, battle challenges, deadlines, saved verse drafts, submissions, and results.
  • Technical and security information: IP addresses, approximate country inferred from IP, browser/device information, requested pages or API endpoints, timestamps, request methods, and error or diagnostic records. We do not need your device's precise GPS location to operate Verseyard.
  • Support correspondence: information you send when you ask for help, report content, or exercise a privacy right.

2. How we use information

We use this information to sign you in, maintain your profile, save and display your content, connect community members, operate battles and voting, calculate reputation, deliver notifications, and respond to requests. We also use technical records to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, investigate errors, enforce community rules, and improve reliability and performance. Optional birthday information supports birthday-related reputation features.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, our processing relies on providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in running and protecting the community, legal obligations, or your consent for activities that require it. You may withdraw consent where applicable without affecting earlier lawful processing.

3. What other people can see

Your username, profile details you publish, reputation, and community activity may be visible to other members. Public posts, published battle entries, votes, and results are intended to be shared with their audience. Friends-only posts and private groups use the audience controls offered by those features. Saved drafts and submissions are stored to run the battle workflow; their availability changes as a battle progresses.

The service supports finding members by username or email, and member search can display an account's email address. The profile email-visibility setting controls display on the profile; it does not currently remove email from member search. Do not put confidential information in public content. Other people may copy or share content they can access, and deleting a post cannot remove their independent copies. Authorized staff may access records as needed for support, moderation, security, and legal obligations.

4. Cookies and browser storage

Verseyard remembers sign-in using a persistent, non-secret browser cookie together with an authentication token in local storage. Both are needed to restore a remembered sign-in. The cookie is renewed for up to 400 days when you use Verseyard, subject to browser storage and expiry limits. Clearing the cookie or logging out ends that browser's remembered sign-in; clearing local storage can also sign you out. You can then sign in again through MakePip's magic-link flow. Logging out does not delete your account or published content.

We also use local storage for appearance preferences and session storage for interface settings. MakePip sign-in and security features may use additional cookies. Blocking necessary cookies or storage can prevent parts of the service from working.

5. Advertising and measurement

The public welcome page includes Google AdSense advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to deliver, personalize where permitted, and measure advertisements. Verseyard also includes an OpenAI advertising measurement pixel, which may receive page visits, referrer information, browser/device information, IP addresses, and advertising identifiers. These providers process information under their own policies.

Read how Google uses information from partner sites, Google's privacy policy, and OpenAI's privacy policy. You can review Google's settings at My Ad Center, use your browser's cookie controls, and use the “Ad privacy choices” control on the welcome page when it is available. Advertising and consent options depend on your location and provider availability.

6. Service providers and embedded media

We use MakePip for shared account services, Microsoft Azure for hosting, and Cloudflare for traffic delivery, caching, and security. These providers process information needed to perform their services, such as network requests, IP addresses, and security signals. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Microsoft's privacy statement.

Posts and profiles can embed YouTube or other externally hosted media. Loading or playing embedded media may send your IP address, browser details, referrer, and cookies to that provider. Links to other sites are governed by those sites' policies. The MakePip privacy policy covers use of the separate MakePip platform and shared sign-in.

7. Other disclosures

We disclose information to the audience you choose, providers that help operate the service, and authorized staff. We may also disclose relevant records when legally required, to investigate fraud or abuse, to protect people or our rights, or in connection with a business transfer subject to applicable privacy obligations. We do not sell your private verse drafts or account credentials to data brokers.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain account and community records while they are needed to provide the service and maintain your account, and may retain information needed for security, disputes, or legal obligations. Retention depends on the record and its purpose; there is no single automatic expiry for all Verseyard content. You can remove content where the interface provides that option, or request account or data deletion by emailing us. Deletion may not immediately remove backup copies, security records, records we must lawfully retain, or copies other members independently made.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

You can edit profile details, change available audience settings, remove supported content, clear browser storage, and manage advertising preferences. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, erase, restrict, or object to use of personal information, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact [email protected] to make a request. We may need to verify account ownership before acting, and applicable legal exceptions may limit a request.

10. Security and international processing

We use HTTPS, account access controls, and Cloudflare protection to help safeguard information. No online service or storage system is completely secure. Our hosting infrastructure is in India, and providers may process information in other countries. Where required, transfers are subject to applicable legal safeguards. Protect your email account and sign-in links, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

11. Children

Verseyard is not intended for children under 13, and you must also meet any higher minimum age required where you live. Children under that age should not create an account or submit personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Verseyard, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including removing the information where required.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or its data practices change. The date above identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or seek consent when applicable law requires it. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected]. You can also read the Verseyard Terms.
